auto_dial_level

What Auto Dial Level Does

Sets the number of simultaneous outbound call attempts per available agent. A value of 1.0 means one call per agent; 2.0 means two simultaneous dials per agent. Higher values increase contact rate but also increase abandoned call risk. This is the primary dial performance lever in VICIdial.

| Center Size | Recommended Value | Notes |

| --- | --- | --- |

| 10–25 Agents | 1.5 to 3.5 for most outbound campaigns | Start conservative, monitor for 48 hours before adjusting |

| 25–100 Agents | 1.5 to 3.5 for most outbound campaigns | Scale gradually — larger operations amplify effects of misconfiguration |

| 100–500 Agents | 1.5 to 3.5 for most outbound campaigns | Consult ViciStack optimization team for enterprise-scale tuning |

How to Change This Setting

  • Navigate to Admin > Campaigns

  • Select campaign

  • Find the Auto Dial Level field

  • Enter a decimal value (e.g., 2.5)

  • Enable adaptive_dl_level to allow automatic adjustments

  • Monitor abandon rate closely after any change

  • Submit

Common Problems

Setting too high causes abandon rate violations and TCPA risk

Setting too low wastes agent capacity — agents sit idle waiting for calls

Not using adaptive mode means the level never adjusts to traffic conditions
