What LRERR Means

An error occurred in the lead recycling process for this lead. The system attempted to recycle the lead but encountered a configuration or data error that prevented proper status assignment.

When This Status Is Set

LRERR is assigned automatically when VICIdial’s lead recycling engine encounters an error while attempting to process a lead for recycling. The most common triggers include referencing a status code in the lead_recycling configuration that does not exist in Admin → System Statuses, database connection errors during the recycling process, race conditions where two recycling passes attempt to update the same lead simultaneously, and mismatches between the campaign’s dial_status_filter and the recycling filter that create circular logic. The error is written to the vicidial_list table as the lead’s status, effectively pulling the lead out of normal dial flow and flagging it for administrative review. LRERR should be treated as an alarm condition — its presence always indicates a configuration or infrastructure problem.

Impact on List Management

LRERR leads are stuck outside the normal dial flow and must be excluded from your dial_status_filter. These leads will not be picked up by the hopper, will not be dialed, and will remain in limbo until manually corrected. The priority when encountering LRERR is to fix the root cause (the misconfiguration or database issue that produced the error) before resetting the affected leads, otherwise the same leads will cycle back to LRERR on the next recycling pass. High LRERR counts accumulating over time can silently erode your effective list size — on a 50,000-lead list, even 200-300 LRERR records represent meaningful lost inventory. Query vicidial_list for status = 'LRERR' grouped by list_id and entry_date to understand when the errors started and which lists are affected.

Best Practices

• Monitor LRERR count daily — any LRERR records indicate an active configuration issue that needs immediate attention

• Common fix: verify all statuses referenced in lead_recycling configuration exist in Admin → System Statuses — a typo or deleted status code is the most frequent root cause

• Manually reset LRERR leads to NEW or their appropriate previous status after fixing the root cause, using Admin → List Modification or a direct SQL UPDATE

• Build an automated alert that triggers when LRERR count exceeds zero, so you catch configuration errors the same day they occur

• After any campaign recycling configuration change, monitor for LRERR in the first hour to confirm the new settings are valid

Admin Configuration

LRERR is a system-level status defined in Admin → System Statuses with callable set to N and selectable set to N — it is never manually assigned. The lead recycling configuration that can produce LRERR errors is managed per-campaign under Campaign Detail → Lead Recycling, where each recyclable status has configurable delay intervals and attempt limits. To diagnose LRERR root causes, review the VICIdial system logs (vicidial_admin_log and the screen log output) for recycling-related error messages. After correcting the configuration, use Admin → List Modification to batch-reset LRERR leads — filter by status LRERR and update to NEW or the lead’s previous status.
