Campaign
A campaign is the primary organizing unit for outbound calling operations in VICIdial. It defines every aspect of how calls are made — the dialing mode, auto dial level, caller ID, call recording settings, disposition codes, agent scripts, and which lead lists are active. Every outbound agent logs into a specific campaign, and the campaign’s settings govern their dialing experience.
How It Works in VICIdial
A VICIdial campaign is configured through the admin panel with dozens of settings organized into sections: dialing parameters, caller ID, answering machine detection, recording, transfers, scripting, and more. Lead lists (List IDs) are attached to campaigns, and the hopper pulls leads from these lists based on the configured lead order and lead filters.
Campaigns can operate in different dialing modes — predictive, progressive, power, preview, or manual — controlled by the auto dial level and related settings. The adaptive dialing engine operates at the campaign level, adjusting the dial ratio based on that campaign’s metrics.
Campaigns also define blended inbound/outbound behavior through the closer campaigns setting, which allows agents in an outbound campaign to receive inbound calls from designated inbound groups during idle time.
Why It Matters
The campaign is where strategy meets execution in VICIdial. Proper campaign configuration directly determines contact rates, conversion rates, cost per lead, and compliance posture. A well-configured campaign maximizes agent productivity while maintaining TCPA compliance and acceptable abandon rates.
