Dial the Right People at the Right Time.

VICIdial's default lead_order setting works on a simple first-in, first-out basis with some basic priority modifiers. It doesn't know that calling a lead at 8am local time is 3x more likely to connect than at 5pm. It doesn't know that a lead who answered on attempt 2 but didn't convert is worth prioritizing again. It doesn't know that your list has 40,000 disconnected numbers that are wasting your agents' time.

The lead_recycling settings help, but they require constant manual tuning. Most centers set them once and forget them. Your list penetration strategy from 2022 is probably still running your dials in 2026.

Duplicate leads compound this problem. Without aggressive deduplication, it's common to find the same person in 3-5 different lists under slightly different names or phone number formats. Your agents are burning call attempts on the same person who told you no twice already.
