The major carriers — AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile — and third-party analytics services like Hiya, First Orion, and TNS score every outbound number. If your DIDs hit certain thresholds (complaint volume, call pattern analysis, STIR/SHAKEN attestation failure), they get labeled "Spam Likely," "Scam Likely," or simply blocked.

In a typical unconfigured VICIdial environment, 30-50% of your DID pool is flagged within 6-12 months of active use. You may not even know it. VICIdial has no built-in DID reputation monitoring. Your agents see dials going out. They don't see that 40% of those dials are hitting a "Spam Likely" screen on the other end.

The outbound_cid and manual_dial_cid settings let you configure which numbers go out per campaign, but rotating them manually across a pool of hundreds of DIDs is a full-time job.
