List ID

A List ID is VICIdial’s organizational container for lead data. Each list is identified by a unique numeric ID and contains a collection of leads (phone numbers and associated data) that can be assigned to one or more campaigns for dialing. Lists enable segmentation of lead data by source, date, quality tier, or any other organizational criteria.

How It Works in VICIdial

Lists are created in the VICIdial admin panel and populated by uploading lead files (CSV format) or through API lead insertion. Each list has properties including: a name, description, campaign assignment, active/inactive status, reset capabilities, and custom field definitions. Leads within a list contain standard fields (phone number, first name, last name, address, etc.) plus up to 200 custom fields.

A campaign can have multiple lists assigned to it. The hopper pulls leads from all active lists attached to the campaign, using the list order setting to determine priority when multiple lists are active. Lists can be activated and deactivated independently without removing them from the campaign, providing flexible control over which data is being dialed.

Each list maintains its own dial status counts, contact statistics, and penetration metrics. List-level reporting allows managers to compare performance across different lead sources or data segments.

Why It Matters

Effective list management is one of the most important factors in outbound call center success. Organizing leads into well-segmented lists enables precise targeting, accurate ROI tracking by lead source, and efficient lead recycling strategies. List-level analytics reveal which data sources produce the highest contact rates and conversion rates.
