Admin Panel

The admin panel is VICIdial’s web-based administration interface used by managers and system administrators to configure, monitor, and manage all aspects of the call center operation. Accessed through a standard web browser, the admin panel provides control over campaigns, inbound groups, agents, carriers, DIDs, lead lists, recordings, real-time monitoring, and reporting — essentially every configurable element of the VICIdial platform.

How It Works in VICIdial

The admin panel is served by the VICIdial web application running on Apache and PHP, connected to the central MySQL database that stores all configuration and operational data. It is typically accessed at the /vicidial/admin.php URL on the VICIdial web server. Access is controlled through user group permissions — administrators can grant or restrict access to specific sections and functions based on each user’s role.

The admin panel is organized into major sections: Campaigns for configuring outbound dialing parameters, auto dial levels, scripts, and disposition codes; Inbound for managing DIDs, inbound groups, and call menus; Users/Agents for creating agent accounts, assigning user groups, and setting permissions; Lists for managing lead data imports and list IDs; Carriers for configuring SIP trunks and carrier connections; and Reports for generating performance analytics.

Real-time monitoring within the admin panel shows live campaign status, agent states, calls in progress, queue depths, and dialer pacing. Managers use this view to make on-the-fly adjustments — changing dial levels, moving agents between campaigns, or modifying routing rules in response to real-time conditions.

Why It Matters

The admin panel is the operational nerve center of any VICIdial deployment. Nearly every setting that affects call quality, agent productivity, compliance, and campaign performance is configured here. Understanding the admin panel’s capabilities and how settings interact is fundamental to running an effective VICIdial operation.

Proper access control through the admin panel is also critical for security and compliance. Restricting sensitive functions — such as DNC list management, recording access, and carrier configuration — to authorized personnel prevents accidental or unauthorized changes that could disrupt operations or create compliance violations.
